Two Playa Workshops Coming This Fall

Two playa workshops, hosted by the New Mexico Environment Department, will be held in Clovis, New Mexico, this fall. Both events are free and open to participants from Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Rapid Assessment Training for Playas

A New Mexico Rapid Assessment Method (NMRAM) Training for Playa Wetlands will be held in Clovis, New Mexico, Sept. 27-29. The workshop will provide guidelines and protocols for the rapid assessment of wetland condition for playas of the Southern High Plains. The training will include both classroom time and field time at local playas. There is no cost to attend, and the training is open to those outside of New Mexico. Wetlands Across Borders Meeting on Playas

A Wetlands Across Borders Meeting focused on playas of the Southern High Plains will be held Oct. 31 through Nov. 3 in Clovis, New Mexico. The meeting will include speakers and poster presentations followed by a choice of a Roads and Playas workshop, a training workshop on New Mexico Wetlands Rapid Assessment Method for Playa Wetlands, or a general tour of playas in the Clovis area. Wetlands Across Borders Meetings target wetland issues and interests that cross state boundaries and multi-state participation is encouraged. Registration is free.
