Lily Abromeit Joins PLJV Team
PLJV welcomes Communications Specialist Lily Abromeit to our staff and growing communications team. She will be supporting PLJV’s overall communications, including production of the Playa Post, updating printed materials and developing content for the PLJV website.
“We are very excited to have Lily on our team,” said Miruh Hamend, PLJV Communications Director. “She brings a new, journalistic perspective and set of storytelling skills to the Joint Venture, which will enhance our communication efforts and expand our reach.”
Lily has a passion for the environment and conservation and is excited to be moving professionally into this area of work. She is looking forward to gaining even more knowledge about bird habitat conservation from the rest of the PLJV staff, management board and local partners.
“I love talking about ways we can all do better and work both individually and collectively to make life better for people and wildlife,” she said. “I am excited to get to spend my working day doing this as well.”
Lily is new to Colorado but is a Midwesterner through and through, having grown up in Kansas. Most recently she has been an Illinois resident and is excited to switch out the skyscraper views of Chicago for those of the Front Range.
She plans to use her skills in reporting, video and audio editing, podcast production, social media management, graphic design and email communications to enhance PLJV’s reach and increase engagement among PLJV’s various partners.
Above all else, she is excited to bring her skills in storytelling to the team, hoping to tell stories from across the region. She has experience working in a newsroom setting and telling stories from a journalistic perspective — reaching a wide audience across different backgrounds and interests.
“I am excited about the way communications can reach people across different walks of life and can inspire new ways of thinking, encourage positive engagement and action, and facilitate change,” she said.
