Brad is the Wildlife Division Region 1 Director for Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD), overseeing conservation efforts across 91,000 square miles in the Panhandle and Trans-Pecos regions. With over 30 years in wildlife management, he has worked extensively in public and private land conservation, holding roles with both TPWD and the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks. He holds a bachelors’ degree in wildlife biology from Kansas State University and a master’s degree in environmental biology from Emporia State University.
TPWD oversees and protects wildlife and their habitats while managing the state’s parks and historical areas. The department relies on joint venture partners like PLJV for landscape conservation planning, design, and science, embracing a shared commitment to conservation. Brad has worked with PLJV since the late 1990s and values its role in delivering science-based solutions and engaging landowners, communities, and industries to support both wildlife and quality of life.
A native Kansan who grew up in north-central Texas, Brad’s love for the outdoors led him to a career in conservation. He enjoys hiking, camping, and spending time with his wife of 40 years, two children, and four grandchildren. An avid angler and hunter, he remains dedicated to ensuring the future of Texas’ natural resources.
