George has a deep passion for conservation and enjoys collaborating with like-minded people committed to practical, partnership-driven solutions — especially in his home region of New Mexico. In his current role, George supports the Restore New Mexico partnership by helping improve rangeland conditions for Lesser Prairie-Chickens and other native wildlife. His work involves engaging landowners, building strong relationships with conservation partners, and coordinating innovative restoration efforts across southeast New Mexico.
George joined PLJV in 2025, after retiring from a 19-year career as the Southeast Regional Habitat Biologist for the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish where he spent much of his career planning and coordinating habitat restoration and monitoring projects across the checkerboarded landscape of southeast New Mexico — including state, federal, and private lands. He also served with the USDA Forest Service on the Lincoln National Forest as the Natural Resources Partnership Coordinator.
Outside work, George enjoys time with his wife of over 30 years, their children, and grandchildren. In the fall, you’ll likely find him bowhunting and enjoying the outdoors he’s dedicated his life to protecting. He also shares his faith through ministry roles. For George, this new chapter at PLJV continues his lifelong commitment to the land and its people.
