A proud Red Raider, Tavin earned a B.S. in Natural Resources Management from Texas Tech University. Tavin began his career as a field technician for Texas Tech Quail at the Pitchfork Ranch and later served as a Coordinating Wildlife Biologist for Quail Forever, helping landowners implement conservation programs and upland restoration projects. Tavin was born in Amarillo and raised in Lubbock, where his love for the outdoors grew through fishing, camping, hunting, skiing, and tennis. As the grandson of farmers, he developed a deep respect for the land and those who care for it, which inspired his passion for conservation.
